What it does
MUBI selects films for a curated streaming service and publishes cinema writing through Notebook. Its site also provides a film database for discovery beyond the viewing catalogue.
Use Now Showing for films you can watch and the Film Database to research a wider body of cinema. A database entry does not establish subscription access. Notebook supplies writing about directors and film culture alongside the curated selection.
For travel, the mobile apps offer HD downloads and offline viewing. MUBI lists two simultaneous screens across up to five devices, plus casting and television apps. The selection differs by country because distribution rights are territorial, so check Now Showing in your destination rather than assuming that a recommendation or downloaded-title offer applies everywhere.
Strengths
- Film writing and database browsing support discovery around the streaming selection.
- Mobile downloads, casting and a published device guide support different viewing setups.
Watch out for
- The viewing selection varies by country.
Best for
- Viewers who prefer editorial film selection
