What it does
Muck Rack brings PR monitoring, media contacts and reporting together, with Social Listening available as an add-on. The PR platform requires a paid, customised subscription and individual user accounts. Its free journalist tools are separate from that business service.
Social Listening connects keyword-based mentions, engagement and sentiment with earned-media reporting. The Keyhole capability is now part of Muck Rack, so teams can examine social discussion around the same announcement or issue as their news coverage.
To organise relevant voices, open Monitoring > Social Profiles Watchlist and choose Create Watchlist. From Our Database finds known handles for a person or outlet; New Custom Social Profile List lets you enter them yourself. Add tags for a client or campaign, then use those tags when setting up a listening tracker. Each watchlist accepts one profile per network. Export produces an Excel file of the filtered table, including its tags.
Instagram monitoring has a specific boundary: public hashtag tracking is available, but a general word cannot be searched across every public post. Authenticate an Instagram account, then use Monitoring > Social Listening Trackers > Create Tracker to set up the topic. Keyword tracking within selected accounts requires those Business or Creator accounts to be authenticated. Each authenticated account has a rolling seven-day allowance of 30 hashtags; deleting one does not immediately release its slot.
Prices are tailored to the team, including its user count. Include Social Listening in the subscription proposal. Staff use individual organisational email addresses; shared addresses such as a general press inbox cannot serve as the primary login. An administrator can invite new colleagues, with single sign-on available where the organisation has configured it.
