What it does

Unity's AI tools include an in-editor assistant, a command-line interface, an MCP server and an official plugin for third-party coding agents. The in-editor assistant understands the scene and can drive Editor actions. The CLI and MCP server let you control the Editor from a terminal or another IDE. The plugin adds Unity skills to agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Grok. Unity 6 or later is required. A free trial is available for Personal Edition users, and the CLI, MCP server and plugin are free to use.

The page states that the Unity AI brand name is being retired and the tools are now described by function. The in-editor assistant requires credits, while the CLI, MCP server and official plugin are free with no concurrency limits. Pro, Enterprise and Industry subscribers get access to the agentic assistant as part of their subscription. Personal Edition users can start a free trial that converts to a $10 per month subscription. The tools require Unity 6.0 and up and may need a package installation. Unity Muse is described as a deprecated product and is not the same as these tools.
