What it does
YouTube Music combines music recordings and videos with Premium options for background listening, downloads and audio-only music.
Use the free ad-supported service for on-demand music/videos, queues and repeat. Premium adds background and audio-only music plus downloads; Song/Video switching depends on whether the creator supplied a video.
Music downloads last up to thirty days without internet. Signup countries are listed, with possible local exceptions, and extended travel can affect a subscription. Podcast rules differ: many audio/background/download features need no membership, but content limits, US download restrictions and advertising exceptions remain.
