What it does
Capitally is a portfolio tracker with spreadsheet imports, custom assets and multi-currency return analysis. It uses files or manual records instead of linking to brokerage accounts. Paid subscriptions have a 14-day trial without a credit card.
Capitally is useful when an existing spreadsheet contains more history than a broker connection would import. Bring in transactions through CSV, Excel or pasted data, then separate capital gains, currency movements, dividends and fees in the return analysis. Custom assets and liabilities can sit alongside listed securities.
Subscription capacity
| Plan | Capacity |
|---|---|
| Sailor | One project and 50 assets |
| Navigator | Five projects and unlimited assets |
| Captain | Unlimited projects, stock options and private equity |
A project contains portfolios and their records; it is also a way to keep a separate scenario. Start Free Trial begins a 14-day evaluation. Prices are finalized at checkout, with taxes included.
Capitally deliberately avoids broker linking. New transactions need another import or manual entry, which matters if you expect balances to update from a live connection.
Strengths
- Separates currency effects from other return components
- Supports custom assets alongside listed instruments
Watch out for
- Broker changes require imported or manually maintained records rather than live account linking
Best for
- Migrating a portfolio spreadsheet
- Analyzing multi-currency investment returns
