What it does

myNode combines a Bitcoin full node, Lightning services and an Electrum wallet server behind a local web interface. Its Community Edition is free, while Premium adds paid features and support. You can install an image on a supported PC or Raspberry Pi, use a virtual machine, or buy a prebuilt myNode device.

A dashboard for your own hardware

myNode provides wallet-pairing QR codes, Lightning channel backups and a marketplace for installing, removing and updating apps. Available applications include BTCPay Server, Mempool, ThunderHub and Ride the Lightning. The node runs on your hardware; the browser is the way you manage it.

Community, Premium and Premium+

The Community Edition has no software charge. Premium is a one-time product-key purchase that does not expire. It adds one-click upgrades and premium apps, with one year of Premium+ included. Premium+ is the optional annual service for extended support, remote backups and the Lightning Watchtower. The underlying Premium features continue after that year even if you do not renew Premium+.

To activate a purchased key, open Settings on the device, choose Enter Product Key, paste it and save.

Installing a node

Choose the image for your PC, Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5. Flash it to the appropriate boot media, attach the data drive and Ethernet, then power on. Open mynode.local from your network and check for updates. The download guide recommends a 2 TB SSD; a Raspberry Pi uses a separate drive to store the blockchain.

Strengths

  • Community Edition can be installed before deciding on Premium
  • Premium product keys do not expire
  • Marketplace includes payment servers, explorers and node-management apps

Watch out for

  • Self-installation needs compatible hardware and a separate blockchain data drive
  • Premium+ services require renewal after their included year

Best for

  • Home Bitcoin users connecting wallets to their own node
  • Node owners who want a managed collection of Bitcoin and Lightning apps
