What it does
MyState Bank’s Glide account combines everyday payments with spending insights and low-balance notifications. It has no monthly account fee and supports digital wallets, app banking and internet banking. Customers can also change daily transfer limits through its digital services.
Transfer limits are worth locating before a larger planned payment. MyState lets customers change daily limits in the app or internet banking. Glide adds cash-flow views, spending trends and bill reminders, including notifications when the balance may not cover expected spending.
Everyday fees and exceptions
Glide has no monthly fee or charge for ordinary BPAY, direct debits, EFTPOS and internet transfers. MyState charges no ATM-withdrawal fee, although the ATM operator may charge. Bank@Post withdrawals cost A$4.30, foreign-currency conversion costs 3.25%, and a rejected BPAY or dishonoured direct debit costs A$5.
For online opening, applicants must be Australian residents aged at least 16. Provide your Australian address and an accepted driver’s licence or passport for verification. The email after registration supplies your Customer Number and account details; use those to access the app or internet banking, then activate the debit card when it arrives.
Online joint applications require identification for every named holder. There is no requirement to deposit money immediately into a newly opened account. Australian-based customer care provides another route if a payment setting or unexpected account event needs attention.
