What it does

NBX is a Norwegian cryptocurrency service with accounts funded in Nordic currencies and euros, scheduled purchases and an OTC desk, which arranges broker-assisted large trades. Most markets now use a simple buy or sell flow. Norwegian users can fund their account through supported banks using BankID.

Funding an NBX account

NBX accepts customers aged 18 or older after registration and identity checks. Its country guide covers Scandinavian and other international applicants, with additional checks for specified higher-risk or sanctioned jurisdictions. Ask NBX about your circumstances before funding if your citizenship or residence appears in that guide.

On a computer, choose Add Funds, select the currency and follow its deposit instructions. A manual bank transfer must include the reference shown for your bank account. The first credited deposit registers that account for later withdrawals.

For NOK, the fast-deposit option opens a bank selector and then your bank's authentication process. If your bank is absent, use the ordinary bank-transfer instructions. The Deposits tab records previous funding activity.

The current trading screen

For most markets, choose Buy or Sell, select the crypto and enter an amount or a balance shortcut such as 25% or MAX. Preview shows the estimated payment, receipt, coin price and fee. The confirmed order executes at the available market price, so the final amount can differ from the estimate.

Since September 2026, most markets no longer have limit orders, an order book or market-depth controls. A few specialist markets retain the older layout. Charts and recurring purchases remain available. Someone looking for an ordinary BTC limit order should check the current market screen before depositing for that purpose.

Transaction costs

Standard trading and recurring purchases carry a 0.7% fee. The card route adds a 4.5% commission to the trading charge, and other payment-provider costs may apply.

NBX does not levy an incoming bank-deposit fee, though an intermediary bank can deduct its own charge. Minimum deposits vary by currency: the published table lists €5 for EUR, SEK 50 and DKK 35. Withdrawal charges depend on the currency or cryptoasset, so a complete comparison should include how you intend to take funds out.

Strengths

  • The trade preview separates the estimated receipt, price and fee
  • Bank-deposit instructions explain the reference and linked withdrawal account

Watch out for

  • Most markets no longer offer limit orders or an order-book screen
  • Applicants from listed jurisdictions face additional identity or compliance checks

Best for

  • Adult Nordic customers buying crypto through local bank funding
  • Buyers who prefer a purchase preview and recurring orders to advanced market controls
