What it does
NCBA's Kenyan digital services combine account records, bank transfers and mobile-money payments. NCBA Now and internet banking support M-Pesa and Airtel Money, alongside utility and government payments. New customers with Kenyan National ID can apply in the app for a Go Banking current account.
Pick the route that matches the payment
Use a bank transfer for an account recipient, the mobile-money option for M-Pesa or Airtel Money, and the relevant bill-payment route for a utility or service. Internet banking supports KPLC electricity, eCitizen services and Nairobi Expressway toll top-ups. Its M-Pesa tools also handle Paybill and Buy Goods or Till payments directly from the bank account.
Downloaded statements retain the payment record. Card controls include PIN changes. NCBA Now works on iOS and Android, alongside browser banking.
Open an individual account digitally
Download NCBA Now and enter the account-opening section. You need a Kenyan National ID and a selfie. This route is for new customers and creates a Go Banking current account. It does not support joint accounts or passport-based applications. Existing customers seeking an additional account use their relationship manager or customer care.
After approval, fund the account with KES 500. Go Current has no monthly fee or minimum operating balance and includes free monthly electronic statements. Individual transactions and other services can carry charges.
Gold Pay As You Go is another option with no opening or operating balance and waived monthly ledger fees. Its cost depends on transactions, so the absence of a monthly fee does not make every payment free.
Existing account holders can request mobile or internet access using the registration form, which asks for account number, contact and address details and the channels required.
