What it does
NcFTP Client is a collection of FTP programs including an interactive browser, command-line upload and download tools, and batch-transfer utilities.
Separate programs handle different stages of an FTP workflow: ncftp for browsing, ncftpget and ncftpput for explicit transfers, and the batch tools for queued work. That is useful when a shell job needs a predictable upload step without a graphical interface. The official client page lists a 2025 release and a Clarified Artistic License. Its documented scope is FTP; do not substitute it for a required SFTP client.
Strengths
- Interactive and batch FTP programs
- Official source and compiled-download routes
Watch out for
- The documented client implements FTP rather than SFTP
Best for
- Existing FTP batch processes
