What it does
Doxillion converts document formats including Office, OpenDocument, WordPerfect, HTML, and ebooks. It also provides PDF merging and compression utilities.
For older material, the Microsoft Works and WordPerfect routes can be more relevant than another PDF export. Add files together when the same target is needed, then review formatting in the destination application. The free home-use version supports fewer formats and is restricted to non-commercial use, so confirm both the file type and intended use.
The desktop workflow is to select files, select the target and convert; Windows and Mac editions are offered. Metadata can be updated before processing, and OCR turns scanned material into editable text where supported. An optional email action shares the converted result. The free home edition's reduced format set is separate from the suite's full source/target lists, so those lists do not establish free entitlement to every route.
Strengths
- Covers legacy office formats as well as current documents.
Watch out for
- The free version is non-commercial and supports fewer formats.
Best for
- Converting mixed current and older office files
