What it does
India’s National Career Service connects jobseekers with domestic vacancies, internships, career guidance and job fairs. Its Government of India portal also provides career-centre, counsellor and skill-provider discovery, with separate international-work guidance.
Choose the jobseeker path first. The portal has different tools for employers, counsellors and career centres, while candidates can start with vacancies, internships or career guidance. Dedicated routes include government-sector work, disability-related opportunities and ex-servicemen’s jobs.
A career question may be better served by Find Counsellor or Find Career Center than by another keyword search. Job fairs and events provide another way to investigate opportunities, and the portal links to skill providers and a resume-building tool. International work has its own E-migrate route and advisories, so it should be approached through those instructions rather than assumed to follow the domestic process. The homepage describes its candidate opportunities as free; that does not decide an individual employer’s requirements.
NCS explicitly charges no fee for registration, job applications or interview processing. Its official notice also says jobseekers should not pay employers for these services. Use the portal’s own contact and verification routes if a supposed NCS representative asks for payment.
