What it does
TextSTAT reads text, HTML and document files to create word-frequency lists and concordances, with regular-expression search.
Build or open a TextSTAT 3.0 corpus and add local documents or a URL. Imports convert their text into the corpus database; the manual lists HTML, ODT, Word, PDF, TXT and Markdown. Filter or sort Word Forms, then double-click a term to inspect its KWIC contexts, adjust the context or run a regex concordance and export frequency or concordance results as CSV. Version 3 uses SQLite .crp3 corpora. Older version 2 corpora must be imported into a new version 3 corpus rather than opened directly. Downloads distinguish portable Windows 10+, Intel/ARM Mac and a Debian x86 package.
Strengths
- Direct import of common document formats
- CSV export of frequency and concordance lists
Best for
