What it does

Netcoins is a Canadian crypto platform with CAD pricing, instant and limit orders, and direct crypto conversions. Funding options include Interac e-Transfer, bank wires and crypto deposits. Trading costs are built into the quoted spread, and an identity-verified account is required.

Read the trade quote, not just the dashboard price

Netcoins' dashboard shows a midpoint between buy and sell prices. A limit order uses the relevant trading price, so the dashboard touching a number does not necessarily mean an order fills. In Buy/Sell, select Limit, enter the target and amount, then choose Continue or Preview and Set limit order.

Pending instructions appear under My Open Orders. On the web, its menu opens View More, then Cancel this order. Orders last at most one year; buy targets are limited to 50% below the current price and sell targets to 50% above it. Execution is not guaranteed.

Costs and account setup

Netcoins includes a spread in the price and charges no separate trading commission. Interac deposits and crypto deposits are free. Bank-wire deposits are free above C$3,000; outgoing wires below C$25,000 incur C$50. Crypto withdrawals have asset-specific flat charges.

Create an account with email and password, verify the email and complete the requested identity information. The verification process can require identification, address information and phone verification, with further documents if automated checks fail. Cash withdrawals require two-factor authentication and a bank account in the same name. Interac withdrawals require Canadian residence and a Canadian bank account.

Canadian users can find direct conversion pairs with the Crypto-to-Crypto filter in Trade Index. Completed conversions appear in transaction history, statements and CSV files that open in a spreadsheet. Purchases of some assets have limits based on province or territory, and conversions into those assets count too. Crypto prices can fall, and quoted spreads are a trading cost even without a separate commission.

Strengths

  • Direct crypto conversions without an intermediate CAD sale
  • Pending limit orders have a cancellation flow
  • Conversions appear in history, statements and CSV exports

Watch out for

  • Dashboard midpoint differs from the executable buy or sell price
  • Limit orders expire after one year
  • Spreads and some transfer charges apply
  • Purchase limits depend on asset and Canadian location

Best for

  • Canadian account holders comparing CAD trades, token conversions and price-target orders
