What it does
Netflix combines original and licensed films, series, documentaries and anime in a paid streaming membership. Kids profiles and maturity controls help households manage viewing.
Start with the catalogue for your country before choosing a membership. Netflix's library changes by region, so a recommendation from abroad may not be available locally. Sign in with a Netflix account in a browser or a supported app; the iOS and Android apps offer downloads for offline viewing. Kids profiles provide PIN-protected maturity limits and title blocking. These controls are useful for a shared family subscription, while download eligibility and plan limits still need checking for the titles and country you will use.
Strengths
- Kids profiles include maturity controls and title blocking.
- Supported mobile apps offer offline downloads.
Watch out for
- Netflix does not operate in China, Crimea, North Korea, Russia or Syria.
Best for
- Households choosing a broad film and series subscription
