What it does
Netpbm is a collection of command-line image utilities for format conversion, resizing, cropping, mirroring and related operations.
Netpbm works as a sequence of small command-line programs. Decode a source image into its raster formats, apply operations and encode the final result. Most tools write to standard output, so include a destination or another pipeline stage. Choose the intermediate format carefully: PAM-aware tools can carry alpha; older PNM formats do not carry it the same way. Individual utilities also differ in memory needs and large-file support. Check the relevant tool and its libraries before processing a large batch.
