What it does

NetSuite Financial Management combines general ledger, receivables, payables and cash records with billing, reporting and consolidation. Its broader suite includes budgeting and revenue-recognition functions.

NetSuite's financial-management scope reaches from individual accounting records to group oversight. A finance team can review receivables and payables in the core ledger workflow, then consolidate accounts across business units or subsidiaries. Role-based reports provide a route into the transactions behind a group balance.

Subscription billing and revenue recognition address separate questions: how the customer is billed and how revenue is represented over the relevant obligations or periods. Define those requirements separately when connecting a sales contract, billing schedule and accounting reports. Planning tools add departmental budgets and approval workflows.

NetSuite charges an annual licence based on the core platform, optional modules and user count, plus a one-time implementation fee. Core accounting is included in the platform licence. Request a proposal covering the entities, modules and users you expect to need; the product-tour and test-drive links provide an initial evaluation route.

The SuiteAccountants program gives accounting professionals a free licence to work in their clients' NetSuite accounts. That access is tied to an existing customer system and is not a free standalone financial-management plan.
