What it does

Silo is a polygon and subdivision modeller with UV mapping and customizable controls. Its licence includes Milo, a separate real-time rendering companion that can reload saved model changes. Purchases include a year of updates.

Silo combines polygon and subdivision modelling with UV mapping, including live LSCM unwrapping. Its interface, colours, buttons, hotkeys and mouse functions can be customized. GoZ connects base meshes to ZBrush, while FBX support carries models and blend shapes to Unity or Unreal.

The bundled Milo application handles presentation. Save an edited model in Silo and Milo can reload the changes automatically. Built on Unreal Engine, Milo offers PBR materials, ray tracing, depth of field, architectural walkthroughs and turntable GIF export. It runs separately from Silo and remains labelled Early Access.

A purchase includes both applications and one year of updates. Versions released within the covered update period remain usable afterwards; an extension adds access to later releases. The trial lasts seven days.

Current downloads require 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, or macOS 12 or newer on an Apple Silicon Mac. Older installers are listed separately for machines that do not meet those requirements.

Strengths

  • Live LSCM unwrapping sits alongside polygon and subdivision tools.
  • Saved Silo changes can reload automatically in Milo.

Watch out for

  • Milo is still labelled Early Access.
  • The current Mac builds require Apple Silicon.

Best for

  • Base-mesh modelling
  • Props that continue into sculpting
