What it does
NX Studio is Nikon's free image browser and editor with crop, straighten, retouching, Picture Controls, local color adjustment and metadata editing.
Use ratings and labels to select the Nikon image set, then apply global corrections or Color Control Points for a chosen color and area. Decide how post-editing data is stored: the Sidecar option creates an accompanying adjustment file, while Original File writes that data into the original NEF/NRW file. Keep that storage choice separate from rendering a display copy. Nikon’s pixel-shift guide, for example, exports merged images as JPEG, HEIF or TIFF with quality, size, metadata and destination settings. Its export dialog also includes a Delete originals after operation choice, so review the options before a batch. NX Studio is free; supported camera formats and current OS requirements still apply.
