What it does
Routinator verifies RPKI data and serves the validated results to routers, with a web interface for checking prefix and ASN relationships.
Select one-shot export or server mode around the routing workflow. Routinator updates a local RPKI repository under configured trust anchors, then exports validated origins as CSV by default or JSON and other formats. Server mode supplies RTR or HTTP only on explicitly configured addresses; listeners start after initial validation. The 0.15.2 manual gives a default refresh of 600 seconds, while no-update mode uses the existing cache. Freshness and validation policies therefore matter alongside the prefix/ASN result. This data supports route-origin decisions rather than proving end-to-end reachability. Follow the installed release’s advisories and router integration requirements.
Strengths
- Validated data for routers
- Prefix/ASN checks and service metrics
Watch out for
- Requires service operation and router integration for deployment use
