What it does
Nielsen Norman Group publishes free UX articles and videos alongside paid live and self-paced training. Topics include research, interaction design, writing and product-team practices. Course pages explain curricula, exercises and access terms, with a separate certification route through live courses.
NN/G’s articles are useful for focused questions during product work. They identify the author and publication date, start with a summary and link to related guidance. The UX Disciplines glossary, for example, distinguishes content design, UX writing, research, interaction design and related roles. Public articles can be read without an account.
For structured study, choose Live Online or Self-Paced under training. Self-paced courses are purchased individually. Coding Tools for Designers: Building Prototypes with AI currently costs US$99 and includes videos, practice activities and downloadable resources. It requires a computer terminal and a coding editor, and the course page provides a preview and detailed curriculum before purchase.
Self-paced access does not expire, but videos cannot be downloaded and offline learning is unavailable. Activities do not receive individual instructor feedback. A final assessment earns a Recognition of Completion; self-paced courses do not count toward NN/G’s UX Certification. That credential requires five eligible live courses and five exams.
