What it does
NPGallery brings together National Park Service digital collections, including photographs, video, audio and maps. Browse an individual park archive or follow themes such as night skies, monuments and submerged resources.
A park archive offers a keyword field and collection selectors. Once you open an asset, its metadata lists the park, description, photographer, dates and usage constraints. Download choices can include an original JPEG and smaller versions, with pixel dimensions and file sizes shown before opening the file. Select a version, then save it from your browser.
The Acadia coastal-cliffs record, for example, has a 3,072 × 2,048 original and a Public domain constraint. Read those fields on each asset: NPS also hosts third-party material, and a publicly visible page does not make every file unrestricted. NPS credit is appreciated; commercial publications must distinguish original government work from any new copyright claim.
