What it does

Nunchuk offers free Bitcoin wallets and paid assisted multisignature plans. Its inheritance options use either a Bitcoin-enforced time condition or a changeable arrangement managed through Nunchuk.

Nunchuk separates doing your own Bitcoin key management from paying for assistance. Its Free plan supports wallets with one signing key or several. Paid personal plans add company-assisted signing, recovery and other controls. Nunchuk says its own key cannot move the funds by itself.

Plan Wallet arrangement Main addition
Free DIY single-signature or multisignature Community support
Iron Hand 2-of-3 assisted wallet Key health checks, cloud configuration backup and spending controls
Honey Badger Two 2-of-4 assisted wallets Dedicated inheritance key and choice of inheritance protocol
Honey Badger Premier Three 3-of-5 assisted wallets More inheritance keys, multiple participants and access roles

A 2-of-3 arrangement means two signatures are needed from three possible keys. The paid plans are annual subscriptions, and hardware signers are bought separately. For autonomous inheritance, every signer must support the required Miniscript wallet rules; the compatible-device list is narrower than for the flexible option.

The inheritance choice affects later changes. The on-chain option puts the time condition into Bitcoin's spending rules. Nunchuk describes a self-claim path that can work without its continuing operation. Changing that arrangement requires a new wallet and a transfer of funds, which incurs a network fee. The off-chain option lets Nunchuk administer adjustable conditions, so it retains a service dependency.

Keep the wallet configuration and inheritance key material available to the intended claimant. A cloud copy of the configuration does not replace the inheritance key's recovery words. In the assisted personal plans the phone is a viewing interface; the required signing keys remain on the separate devices.

For a guided claim, the claimant creates their own account, opens Services and selects Claim an inheritance. Enter the Magic Phrase, then use the inherited hardware signer, recovery words or supported encrypted-backup password to prove control of the key. The app guides the remaining signing steps. Nunchuk recommends a hardware signer; importing the recovery words as a software key exposes them to the phone.

Guided claims are included while the original subscription remains active. If it has expired, Nunchuk lists a maintenance charge of 0.3% of the wallet balance. Autonomous recovery has no Nunchuk claim fee, though Bitcoin transaction costs still apply.

Basic use can be anonymous without an email account, while assisted subscriptions and guided claims use accounts. The terms require users to be 18 or older and legally able to enter the agreement. Nunchuk manages Bitcoin keys; it does not replace the owner's legal estate arrangements.
