What it does
NymVPN offers a faster decentralized VPN mode and a separate mixnet mode that adds cover traffic, with selectable entry and exit locations.
NymVPN presents two modes for different tasks. The faster decentralized VPN mode is the everyday connection option; the mixnet adds noise to make traffic analysis harder. The provider itself suggests messaging, email and similar uses for the mixnet. That choice is more useful to understand than treating both modes as interchangeable VPN servers.
The page also describes selectable entry and exit locations and a free trial. Choose the mode around the traffic you intend to send, especially when the task is a small message rather than a continuous media stream.
Access uses a twenty-four-word passphrase, so keep it available for later sign-in. Nym's policy also distinguishes its decentralized network from company records: node operators sign no-logging commitments, but Nym says it cannot enforce data-access requests or audits of those servers. Error reporting and usage analytics are off by default. If enabled, Sentry metrics have an approximately ninety-day period, while accounting records can remain for ten years.
