What it does
MIT OpenCourseWare makes course materials available across science, engineering, mathematics, humanities and other MIT subjects.
The course catalogue is a route into the material behind a university subject. Choose a course with a topic and level that fit your background, then examine the resources it supplies. Featured examples include mechanics, calculus, biology and sustainable energy. A calculus course can support independent mathematics study; the subject links also help you find related science and engineering material.
OCW is free, needs no account and has no enrollment dates. Download available files for offline study and use the course syllabus to judge prerequisites before starting. MIT does not award credit or certification for OCW use. This is an independent study resource, so the course materials, rather than an enrollment or qualification, are the useful result.
