What it does
Omni combines a semantic model with several analysis interfaces and embedded options. Experts define core logic while colleagues contribute business context for reusable reporting and AI-assisted questions.
A spreadsheet calculation and a chat answer can use the same revenue definition in Omni. Its shared data model supplies that business logic to SQL queries, workbook calculations, dashboards and AI-assisted questions.
Spreadsheet work supports Excel-style formulas and XLSX import and export. The data stays connected to a SQL database or warehouse. Pivoting and chart creation live in query tabs, however, and Omni does not provide an Excel add-in. Finance teams can also define fiscal calendars instead of forcing a retail calendar into ordinary calendar months.
Branch mode lets a team change a model away from the live version. Git integration and model history help review and track those changes before recurring reports use the new definition.
An organization administrator can add colleagues through Settings > Users > Invite users, enter email addresses and choose their roles. Invitations expire after seven days if the recipient has not logged in. Organizations can also connect their existing sign-in provider. Omni quotes commercial access according to users and scope; its order form sets the subscription charges.
Strengths

- Supports branch-based model work and Git version control.
Watch out for
