What it does
Safeguard for Privileged Passwords stores and manages passwords and private keys, with role-based release requests and credential-access records.
Safeguard's official API tutorial explains the same policy model that sits behind its interface: a user requests access to a password, key or session according to assigned roles. Start with who may request, approve and administer each privileged account.
Deployment deserves its own planning. One Identity recommends a cluster of three or five appliances rather than treating a single appliance as the complete production design. Include credential availability and administrative handover in an evaluation of that architecture.
