What it does
OneStream combines financial close, consolidation, account reconciliation and planning. Its finance platform also supports transaction matching and journal-entry management. Access is arranged for an organisation through a tailored commercial quote.
OneStream brings consolidation and planning onto a shared financial-data model. Group finance teams can reconcile accounts, match transactions and manage journals before using the results in forecasts. Consolidation includes currency translation and the elimination of balances between group companies.
Following a journal through approval
In Journal Entry Manager, an entry starts as In Process, where it can be edited. Preparing it makes it read-only; corrections require a recall or rejection. Templates determine whether approval is required and how many approval levels apply. Roles separate preparation from later actions on the same journal.
Approval and posting are separate stages. A direct-download journal must be extracted, then sent to the accounting system. With manual posting confirmation enabled, the final approver or administrator uses Confirm to record the outcome and, for a successful posting, the accounting system's journal ID. Posted entries cannot be rejected or unapproved.
The standard Journals toolbar also supports spreadsheet imports and copying entries into other periods or scenarios. Copies return to a working state, so an approved actual entry does not become an approved forecast merely because it was copied. Exports can filter by period, status and name to create an Excel file for review.
OneStream prices deployments according to scope, users and selected products. Its sales team handles evaluation and demos. It suits groups coordinating several entities and reporting systems, particularly when close controls and planning need to use the same underlying figures.
