What it does
OnionShare is an open-source application for file sharing, file collection, chat and small hosted sites over Tor.
In the desktop 2.6.3 guide, open a Share tab, add files or folders and start sharing. Send the onion address and private key to the recipient, who opens them in Tor Browser. The default service stops after a completed download; changing that setting allows multiple recipients and individual-file downloads. Keep the host awake and online during the exchange. Receive mode instead accepts files into a chosen folder on the host. These are Tor-based workflows, and the project notes that the software can contain vulnerabilities.
