What it does

OnlineOCR recognizes text from PDFs and image files and exports plain text, DOCX, or XLSX. The interface provides language and output-format selection.

Upload the scan, select its language and TXT, DOCX or XLSX output, then convert and download or copy the text. Guest use needs no signup and allows five files per hour up to 15 MB. Registered access supports 200 MB files, ZIP batches and selected multipage ranges. Paid weekly and monthly plans renew with page allowances; the Lifetime package contains 30,000 pages rather than unlimited conversions. The FAQ describes server handling and month-long storage for registered files, so the homepage's local-only wording is not a settled privacy guarantee.

Strengths

  • Offers language selection and several editable output types.

Watch out for

  • Guest use is limited to five files per hour and 15 MB per file.
  • Official storage statements conflict; registered files are described as retained for one month.

Best for

  • Occasional extraction of text from scanned documents
