What it does
Open Foundry is a free showcase of curated open-source typefaces. It displays specimens and designer credits, then directs you to the original project for downloads. Commercial-use and attribution conditions come from each font’s own licence, rather than a single Open Foundry licence.
Choose Explore beside a specimen to look more closely at a family. The selection includes both display and text faces, with credits that connect each typeface to its makers.
Open Foundry hosts font files only to render its previews. It does not distribute downloadable fonts, so the next step is the linked designer, foundry or repository. If licensing information on Open Foundry differs from the original project, the original project takes precedence.
The showcase is free and does not accept payment for featured placement. Crediting Open Foundry is optional; any credit required for the actual font depends on that font’s terms. This makes it a focused discovery resource, while installation files and release details stay upstream.
