What it does
OpenLearn publishes free courses, articles, videos and interactive learning resources from The Open University.
OpenLearn is useful before committing to a larger course of study. Pick a subject, work through an introductory resource and use the separate study-skills material if the process of learning needs attention too. The site offers badges or participation statements on many courses. An OpenLearn profile can also keep favorite content together while you decide what to study next.
OpenLearn distinguishes recognition from academic credit: its participation statements and digital badges do not count as formal credit towards a qualification. Enroll and sign in if you want progress tracking and a statement; complete the required pages and quizzes. Badged courses add compulsory quizzes, which gives independent study a clearer finish than browsing an article.
