What it does
OpenMPT composes and plays tracker music, edits several module formats and supports plugin-based production.
Load or create samples, enter notes and effects in patterns, then arrange the song. OpenMPT can record MIDI into patterns and automate VST parameters, with audio rendering to formats such as WAV, FLAC and MP3.
Check the difference between formats it can load and those it can save as editable modules. Its native Windows workflow supports several classic module families, but importing a file does not make every original playback behavior identical.
Strengths
- Multiple editable module formats
- Plugin support
