What it does
Opensignal's app measures mobile or Wi-Fi connection performance and presents test history, network availability and coverage maps.
Use the app’s speed or video test for the current phone connection, then compare the saved history in a list or map. Network-availability statistics distinguish time connected from time without signal, while coverage maps add community context. The provider’s Privacy Charter says contribution requires affirmative consent and can be switched off in settings; users can use its applications without contributing and request deletion of their history. Contributed data includes network-event locations, connection quality/operator and device information. Opensignal says external sharing is depersonalized analytics. A test remains specific to that device, place and time, and the broader map depends on where people have contributed.
