What it does
Optimal Beam provides browser-based beam calculations and a wider 2D structural-analysis workspace.
Optimal Beam takes span, stiffness, supports and loads to reactions and beam diagrams; its separate 2D workspace models frames and trusses with a first-order direct-stiffness solver. Metric/imperial switching converts existing inputs. After the seven-day Professional trial, Free Explorer retains core modeling and force results for non-commercial learning/testing, but locks beam deflection/slope/stress diagrams, 2D displacements/load workflows, cloud saves and PDFs. Starter adds commercial use, 10 combined saved models, 10 reusable sections and 10 site-wide PDFs per calendar month; Professional removes those count limits and adds history. Save As preserves a separate alternative. On downgrade, saved projects/sections remain listed and openable, while new cloud saves/revisions need a plan; 2D source can be downloaded as JSON.
