What it does

OptionNET Explorer is desktop software for designing, backtesting and monitoring options strategies. Historical data is maintained by the service, while live or delayed quotes come through supported broker connections. Backtests track position adjustments and commissions together.

OptionNET Explorer keeps a strategy’s adjustments and commissions with its cumulative profit or loss. You can create several strategies for one underlying or compare different symbols, then switch between them. The five-minute historical data allows more timing detail than a daily closing-price test, but it does not establish the exact path between observations.

The program runs on a PC, while account information and backtest history are stored on the service’s servers. This lets the same work be accessed from another computer without manually copying a local database. Real-time monitoring requires a broker data feed; the published connections include thinkorswim, Interactive Brokers and Tradier. Sending orders is supported through Interactive Brokers and Tradier.

These are advertised discounted subscriptions for non-commercial use. The trial is limited to one per customer, and the discount lapses if a subscription is allowed to expire. Historical data and software updates are included during the term.

A valid account login is required to download the software. The listed system requirements include Windows 10 or 11, .NET Framework 4 and an internet connection. Mac use is described through Parallels, not as a native macOS application. Subscription orders are manually checked and can take up to 24 hours to process.
