What it does
Option Samurai is an options scanner with strategy filters, volatility analysis and a trade journal. Its saved scans combine stock and contract criteria, while scenario tools show how a candidate position could behave. Public ticker pages also provide a smaller research starting point.
Open Compose scan, choose a strategy and add the filters that answer your question. The guide demonstrates an earnings-date filter alongside implied-volatility rank and the strike’s relationship to the stock price. These settings define a research screen, not a recommendation to sell that particular option.
Run Scan returns a table that you can sort by its column headers. Give an untitled scan a meaningful name and use Save to keep the criteria. The same workspace offers scenario controls and an Excel export. A saved screen is useful for repeating a comparison with the same assumptions as prices change.
The broader analysis tools compare implied and historical volatility, display projected profit and loss, and keep positions in a trade journal. Custom symbol lists, called Universes, narrow the search to stocks you actually follow.
Public covered-call pages let you inspect a ticker before subscribing. For the full scanner, the two-week trial requires signup but no credit card. The annual billing cards show Beginner at $39 per month and Advanced at $59 per month. Beginner permits two total legs in a custom strategy and two trade-log accounts; Advanced permits up to four option legs plus stock and unlimited journal accounts. Initial payments and monthly renewals are non-refundable under the published policy.
