What it does
Oracle Analytics Cloud is Oracle's hosted BI service for data preparation, modeling, visualization and analytical reporting. It connects to Oracle and other data sources, including databases and supplied files, and supports shared business definitions through a semantic model. Oracle Analytics Server is the separately deployed on-premise alternative within the same analytics family.
Oracle Analytics Cloud brings data preparation, visual analysis and shared business definitions into a hosted service. A semantic model supplies common names, hierarchies and calculations for reports; dataflows can combine and transform connected inputs before analysis.
From a spreadsheet to an Excel report
After signing in, choose Create > Dataset on the home page and upload an Excel file. Save the dataset and select Create Workbook. In the Data panel, select the fields to include, then right-click and choose Pick Visualization > Table. Properties controls headings, totals and formats. Save the workbook, then use the table's menu > Export > Excel to produce an .xlsx file. The documented formatted export supports up to 25,000 rows.
The commercial list offers Professional and Enterprise editions using per-user monthly charges or metered OCPU hours, including bring-your-own-licence options. Oracle's Pay As You Go account has no spending commitment and bills actual usage monthly in arrears. Annual prepaid credits are another purchasing route.
Oracle's cloud trial provides USD 300 of credits for up to 30 days, subject to service eligibility. Most registrations require a phone number and credit card; the card is not charged unless the account is upgraded. Always Free resources are a separate offer, so a free cloud account should not be treated as unrestricted free Analytics Cloud access.
