What it does

Orbot is Guardian Project's Android VPN/proxy app for routing other applications through the Tor network.

Orbot extends Tor routing beyond a browser. Its official Android project describes a VPN/proxy app that other applications can use, with a separately running Tor component and ongoing Android-specific maintenance. Choose the app-routing or proxy setup that matches the application you need to connect. The local Android VPN interface is the traffic-capture mechanism; the network route is Tor rather than a conventional provider's VPN server fleet.
