What it does
inSSIDer is Oscium and MetaGeek's Wi-Fi scanner, showing access-point details, channel use and configuration suggestions.
inSSIDer lists nearby access points with channel, width, signal, Wi-Fi generation and security details, then shows channel-use and configuration suggestions. The basic scanner uses the laptop’s Wi-Fi adapter and requires a free Oscium account. MetaGeek Plus adds snapshots, client and packet analysis and cloud sync; packet capture requires supported hardware, with WLAN Pi Go offered for tri-band work. Keep the device’s visible radio environment separate from an Internet speed measurement. The provider also notes that microwaves, Bluetooth and other non-Wi-Fi interference are not directly visible to a Wi-Fi scanner and require a spectrum analyzer to investigate.
