What it does
OsiriX is a DICOM imaging application with 2D and 3D post-processing, volume navigation and PACS integration.
OsiriX provides 2D and volume post-processing with PACS integration on a Mac. Choose the edition before opening a large study: the FAQ says Lite can open about 800 images at once when their matrix is 512×512, rather than establishing that count for every image size. Lite is a demo for reviewing and scientific use, with an explicit prohibition on primary diagnosis. OsiriX MD is the separate commercial edition. Its monthly or yearly subscription limits use when stopped, its single-computer licence covers one machine, and the FAQ requires an internet connection while using MD.
Strengths
- 2D and volume post-processing
- PACS workflow integration
Watch out for
- OsiriX MD requires an internet connection while in use.
