What it does
Ostinato creates, customizes and replays L2/L3 traffic for throughput, QoS, multicast and protocol-behavior testing.
Build traffic streams or import a PCAP, set headers, sizes, rates and bursts, then inspect the counters available in the chosen license. Ostinato suits controlled forwarding, QoS and protocol-behavior tests on ordinary hardware. Current plans require an active subscription: Solo is personal use, while work, teaching or consulting requires a commercial license. The comparison puts Linux on Pro or Business and reserves the automation API, virtual appliance and container for Business. PCAP import caps are 5,000 packets for Solo, 250,000 for Pro and unlimited for Business. Turbo is a separate add-on, and advertised rate limits do not establish the throughput of your hardware.
