What it does
Libby lets library members borrow ebooks, audiobooks and magazines. The available collection and borrowing terms depend on the participating library.
Find your library and verify your card, then search its collection to borrow a title or place a hold. If a title is missing, the relevant collection is your library’s selection rather than every book distributed by OverDrive. Library membership rules also determine whether you qualify for a card.
Loans return automatically, and the mobile app can download borrowed material for offline reading or listening. The Kindle delivery option is limited to US libraries. Check that route before choosing Libby for a Kindle reader, especially when your library is elsewhere.
On mobile, the default is to download loans when connected to Wi-Fi. Manage Loan shows the due date and Return Early control, which can release a copy before automatic expiry.
