What it does
Owlbear Rodeo shares maps, tokens and images in a browser, with drawing, fog and extension tools. It supports desktop and mobile browsing.
The game master creates an account and room, then adds a scene from starter material or a personal map. Players can join from the room link; an account is needed if they want to bring their own token. That distinction keeps a basic guest session separate from managing personal assets.
The invitation link starts a join request that the GM accepts. For a quick encounter, Asset Manager offers starter scenes and tokens; duplicating a labeled token automatically increments its number.
Strengths
- Browser-based map sharing
- Anonymous player joining for basic sessions
Best for
- Running a map-focused remote tabletop session
