What it does

Packdroid generates flat packaging templates for cutting and folding, called dielines, from adjustable templates for corrugated boxes, folding cartons, rigid boxes and bags. Artwork maps onto the same structure used for the 3D fold preview. Free accounts can inspect flat layouts; folded previews require Workshop or Line.

Select a corrugated-box (FEFCO), folding-carton (ECMA), rigid-box or bag template, then enter its required dimensions and material thickness. Packdroid validates those inputs and rebuilds the flat dieline. The folded view uses the same structure, so artwork placed on the flat layout can be inspected around the assembled package.

Plan Dieline downloads Folded preview
Free Four branded demo files during the first five days; continuing 2D inspection Not included
Bench 45 files per month in SVG, PDF or DXF Not included
Workshop 90 files per month Included
Line Unlimited files Included

The lasting free workspace is for inspecting 2D layouts; its initial demo-download allowance is temporary. Workshop and Line are the relevant plans for 3D review. Packdroid does not provide downloadable 3D models.

Accounts require email verification and are licensed to one person. Generated dielines can be used for commercial manufacturing and client work without attribution, while Packdroid's template library and engine remain proprietary. The generated structure is a production starting point: the supplier still needs to confirm tolerances and how the chosen material behaves.

Strengths

  • The flat cutting layout and folded view use the same dimensions and structure.
  • Organizes templates by established packaging families.

Watch out for

  • The 3D fold preview requires Workshop or Line.
  • Downloadable 3D models are not available.

Best for

  • Reviewing carton proportions, closures and artwork before supplier discussion.
