What it does

Pact exchanges Algorand assets through liquidity pools and routes that can include other exchanges. Its Smart Router can split an order or use several pools to connect a token pair. Pool providers can choose among different trading fee tiers.

Pact can connect two assets even when they have no direct pool. The Smart Router control sits beneath the swap form; routing can combine several paths and pool types. This is useful when comparing the received amount for a larger order with a simple direct exchange.

The Swap page has separate input and output asset selectors. Connect an Algorand wallet, choose the pair and enter an amount. Percentage and MAX controls help fill the paying amount, but keep ALGO available for network costs and the wallet minimum. Review the result, choose Swap and approve in the wallet. A completion notification follows execution.

An Algorand wallet must opt in to an asset before receiving it. That applies to USDC and other Algorand Standard Assets, so asset approval can be an extra step before a first exchange.

Pact offers pool fee tiers of 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.30% and 1.00%. The relevant pool charge and Algorand transaction cost both affect the result. A routed exchange can involve more than one pool. Liquidity providers receive their accumulated pool fees when withdrawing their position. Token values and pool balances can change while funds are deposited.

Strengths

  • Smart Router can split an exchange across paths
  • Routes can connect pairs without a direct pool
  • Several trading fee tiers for pool creation

Watch out for

  • Receiving a new Algorand asset requires wallet opt-in
  • ALGO is needed for network costs and minimum balances
  • A route can cross pools with different fee tiers

Best for

  • Algorand wallet users comparing direct and aggregated token swaps
