What it does

Padlet Sandbox is a digital canvas for drawing, writing, and adding media with collaborators working in real time. Its multi-card format can be played as a slideshow, while links between cards support branching lessons, activities, and interactive documents. The vendor also lists moderation settings, permissions, templates, and Google Classroom and Drive connections.

Sandbox extends a blank whiteboard into a sequence of cards. A teacher might start with a drawing or prompt, add images and video, then arrange follow-up cards into a lesson or activity. Padlet’s page also shows breakout rooms, content moderation, card-level backgrounds, and sharing controls, so the product covers both open-ended ideation and more structured classroom use.

The product page says Sandbox creation is included in a paying Padlet subscription. Padlet’s membership comparison has a Free tier as well as paid plans, but the Sandbox page’s question about how many sandboxes a free account can create has no answer in the retrieved text. I therefore leave the whiteboard-specific free allowance and plan limits unresolved rather than applying general Padlet limits to Sandbox.
