What it does
Pagar.me’s payment service is now presented as part of Stone, covering ecommerce checkout and merchant payment management in Brazil. The company says existing contracts and integrations continue through the transition. New merchants need an active Brazilian business registration, including an eligible MEI individual-business registration; processing has transaction fees.
Existing Pagar.me customers should follow their account’s Stone migration instructions. The current FAQ says the new app and Admin Stone dashboard consolidate the services, while the previous login continues to work for customers who have not opened the new account.
For a hosted checkout, send the sale details and accepted payment settings to create a payment link. The response contains the URL to share with the customer. An order can contain cart items, buyer and billing details, shipping and your store’s own order reference. It generates at least one charge, so follow the charge’s result separately from the link itself. The documented states distinguish authorization awaiting capture, completed capture, partial capture, refund and failure.
The current Essencial offer has no monthly fee and publishes these rates:
| Payment | Essencial rate |
|---|---|
| Pix | 0.99% |
| Credit card, single payment | 4.19% |
| Credit card, six installments | 13.63% |
| Credit card, twelve installments | 20.95% |
It advertises next-day receipt. Confirm the applicable cutoff and method conditions when opening the merchant account. Flex uses negotiated rates and adds multiple acquiring connections, payment splits and a configurable receipt date.
Strengths
- The hosted checkout can use the store’s logo and colors.
- An order can generate separate charges for more than one payment method.
- Subscription billing creates a charge for each billing cycle.
Watch out for
- The public Essencial installment limit is up to 21 payments; the chosen method and merchant arrangement still determine what can be offered.
Best for
- Brazilian ecommerce merchants connecting checkout with Stone account management
- Developers maintaining an existing Pagar.me integration
- Marketplaces evaluating the Flex arrangement for seller payment splits
