What it does
PampaType publishes retail and custom typefaces, trial files and the Scriptorium collection of design essays. Its catalog also includes Reforma, a free family created for the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
PampaType connects its fonts with the ideas behind them. Scriptorium articles explore subjects such as Otta's relationship to handwriting and the historical forms behind Gorgias. The library-wide trial download is a practical next step: enter an email address and accept the trial agreement to receive basic-character OpenType files. They omit OpenType features and cannot be used in final files, including non-commercial production.
Reforma has a different role. This free university type project includes 18 fonts, a screen specimen, instructions and its own Creative Commons licence. Log in on the Reforma page to download the package. For paid families, desktop licensing covers a specified user and computer allowance; web, app and other embedding uses need the appropriate separate rights.
