What it does

PancakeSwap exchanges tokens from a connected wallet across supported blockchain networks. Its router can use different pool types and market-maker quotes. Liquidity pools, farms and other earning products have separate workflows; a swap does not require an exchange account.

Two parts of the quote deserve a look before a PancakeSwap trade: Fee shows the charge, while Route shows the pools involved. The magnifier opens the full route. This matters because V2 swaps use a 0.25% pool fee, V3 has 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25% and 1% tiers, and StableSwap fees depend on the pool. Infinity adds custom pool features, including dynamic fees.

Connect a wallet on the intended network, choose the outgoing token in the upper box and the receiving token below it. You can enter either a spending amount or a desired receiving amount. Review the estimate, select Swap, then Confirm Swap and complete the wallet confirmation. A token may first need an Enable approval. Keep network funds available for on-chain actions.

Experienced users can open Customize Routing to change liquidity sources or allow multiple routes. Restricting those choices can worsen a quote; the reset control restores the defaults.

Providing liquidity is a different commitment: deposited assets become part of a pool exposed to changing prices and smart-contract risk. Choose the swap screen when the goal is simply to receive another token, and the liquidity workflow only when a pool position is intended.

Strengths

  • Fee and route details can be inspected before confirmation
  • Either the spending or receiving amount can drive a quote
  • Optional controls for liquidity sources and split routes

Watch out for

  • Pool type and network affect the total transaction cost
  • Restricting routing choices can reduce available liquidity

Best for

  • Wallet users who want token swaps with visible routing controls
